A thought from George Ford

‘That day the Lord saved Israel from the hands of the Egyptians , and Israel saw the Egyptians lying dead on the shore.’
(Exodus 14:30)

‘Then Moses and the Israelites sang this song to the Lord; “I will sing to the Lord, for he is highly exalted. Both horse and driver he has hurled into the sea. The Lord is my strength and my defence, he has become my salvation. He is my God and I will praise him, my father’s God, and I will exalt Him.
(Exodus 15:1&2)

Reflection

The Israelites had know the hardship of captivity, the joy of release, and the fear of re-capture or death. But they had also seen God’s hand at work and His great deliverance of them. We have many things to thank God for not least for our deliverance by Jesus outstretched arms on the Cross that we know God’s love & forgiveness. Think of just one more to include in this prayer.

Prayer

Almighty God our Heavenly Father we praise and exalt you for all goodness and loving kindness towards us. Especially for ............................. and the gift of your redeeming grace through Jesus Christ, your Son, our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit one God now, and forever more.
Amen.

Worship

‘You’re rich in love and You’re slow to anger, Your name is great and Your heart is kind. For all you goodness I will keep on singing; Ten thousand reasons for my heart to find. Bless the Lord O my soul; worship His holy name. Sing like never before, O my soul. I’ll worship Your holy name.’
(Jonas Myrin & Matt Redman, 2011)
