Welcome to Christ Church, the Church of England Parish Church in Ore.

Vicar of Christ Church Ore

Re. Lee Duckett, Vicar of Christ Church Ore

After 7 years as the Vicar of Chrust Church Ore I will be moving with my family during the summer after having been appointed as the next Dean of Battle. It has been a privilege to serve a wonderful church community in Ore and we will be sad to leave as well as excited about the new chapter that God has for us all. This will mean that Christ Church will enter a time of interregnum whilst the PCC prepare a profile for finding a new Vicar for Christ Church.

This is an exciting time in the life of Christ Church Ore as a new chapter is about to unfold of all the good things that God has planned for the church and community. Christ Church is made up of a community of people from all ages and backgrounds who live predominantly in Ore. Some have been at Christ Church all their lives worshipping God through the ups and downs of life,  whilst others are exploring the Christian faith for the first time on an Alpha Course.

In The Message translation of John’s Gospel,  Jesus said “I came so they can have real and eternal life, more and better life than they ever dreamed of.” (John10:10)

Many people find at a certain period of their lives they start to question the meaning of life, maybe after a birth of a child, marriage, divorce, an illness, or bereavement, and wonder where to turn and who to find the answers from. If you have found yourself asking ‘what’s life all about’, ‘why am I here’, ‘what’s the point of it all’ then we would love to invite you to come along on a Sunday to hear the good news that God has for your life and gradually find the answer to many of those questions. The Christian faith is often described as a journey, because it has a start and a destination.  Wherever you are on your journey through this life we would love to welcome you on a Sunday and throughout the week, to find out more about a loving, gracious and Holy God and His Son Jesus Christ.

Our prayer is that whatever life throws at you, through good times and the bad, you also may discover the reality of Jesus’ promise for yourself, ‘I came so they can have real and eternal life, more and better life than they ever dreamed of.’ (John10:10)
