A thought from George Ford

“Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”
(Mark 11:24)

Reflection

Jesus encouraged His disciples to pray in faith, believing it would happen. Jesus doesn’t mean though that we should pray for everything we think we want, but for those things which we are convinced are in keeping with His loving will and purpose. Sometimes His answer will be “Yes”, at other times His answer will be “No”, or simply a “Not yet”, and we haver to wait until the time is right. So we must always pray as Jesus prayed Father not my will be done, but yours (Mark 14:36).

Prayer

Heavenly Father you delight to give good gifts to your children hear us now, we pray, that we might be enlightened by your Spirit, and encouraged by your word, to pray for those things that accord with your love, will and purpose for us and all you have created.  To the praise and glory of your name.
Amen.

Worship

God I look to you, I won’t be overwhelmed, give me vision to see things like you do. God I look to you, you’re where my help comes from. Give wisdom, you know just what to do. I will love you Lord my strength. I will love you Lord my shield. I will love you Lord my rock, forever all my days I will love you Lord.
(Ian Mcintosh & Jenn Johnson 2010)
