A thought from George Ford

‘Then God said, ‘Let the land produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds.’ And it was so. The land produced vegetation: plants bearing seed according to their kinds and trees bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.’
(Genesis 1:11-12)

Reflection

God saw that it was good. And in many ways it still is very good! We are all enjoying the golden colours of autumn across those hill and valley views and down each country lane. But sadly we now know that across the centuries mankind has abused and miss-used God’s wonderful creation, and its balanced order that God created. May the beauty and joy of seeing God’s creation this autumn inspire us to respect it, love it, and do all we can towards undoing the damage collectively done, and play our part towards restoring God’s creative balance.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, we praise and thank you for brilliant hill and valley views, the awesome golden colours of autumn, and the wonderful intricate balance of all your creation. Forgive Father, the way mankind has miss-used and upset your creative order. Strengthen and inspire us by your Holy Spirit to become better, and more able stewards of your creative order, and restorers of the damage mankind has done. To your everlasting praise and glory. Amen.

Worship

God I look to you, I won’t be overwhelmed, give me strength to see things like you do. God I look to you, you’re where my help comes from, give me wisdom , you know just what to do. I will love you, Lord, my strength. I will love you, Lord, my shield. I will love you, Lord, my rock, forever, all my days I will love you God.
