A thought from George Ford

‘This is the covenant I will establish with the people of Israel after that time, declares the Lord. I will put my laws in their minds and write them on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people.’
(Hebrews 8:10)

Reflection

God first gave His laws to Moses. (Exodus 31:12-18) They were inscribe on tablets of stone. The prophet Jeremiah foretold how God would one day write them on His people hearts & minds. (Jeremiah 31:33) The writer of the letter to the Hebrew Christians reminds them, and us, of this, because through Jesus cruel death and resurrection we can individually know God’s love &and forgiveness, and through that personal relationship with Him receive His Spirit into our hearts and minds . And His Spirit will write His laws into our minds and hearts with love.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, who loves us with and everlasting love, grant us we pray to so know and love you that may continually be renewed by your Spirit, and have your laws and loving ways etched on hearts and minds that they are seen in us and the way we live our lives for you, through Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour.
Amen.
